American Humane, America’s first national humane organization, is set to launch , a cookbook for home cooks who share the organization’s dedication to the kind and respectful treatment of animals. American Humane is in Palm Beach. The book will be released in late October to coincide with Humane for the Holidays, a campaign designed to drive awareness for creating meals featuring responsibly raised and sustainable ingredients for the fall and winter holidays.

The cookbook, written by Dr. Robin R. Ganzert, president and CEO of American Humane, features more than 100 carefully curated seasonal recipes from top chefs and national brands. The recipes incorporate ingredients that are respectfully produced by farmers, ranchers, and other American Humane Certified organizations.

The book also features recipes for essential kitchen staples like homemade butter and specialty spreads like blue cheese and thyme butter.

“Today, people are starting to look more closely at where their food is coming from, which is a positive thing,” explains Dr. Ganzert. “More than just a collection of recipes, gives home cooks the inspiration to create dishes that will not only impress your dinner guests but also are rooted in compassion and sustainability. From center-of-the-table dishes perfect for the holidays to easy weeknight family meals, there are recipes for every type of home cook to discover and make their own.”

The introduction to the book also includes perspectives from American Humane Certified producers on the importance of humanely raising animals, modern agriculture, and what it means to be humane in the farm space. Collectively, the insight from these experts gives a glimpse of the on-the-ground work and research being done to elevate standards for animal welfare on farms and ranches around the world.
