Bankhall and PMS Mortgage Club has launched a new protection referral option for its directly authorised firms.

Its 10,000 members will be able to refer clients to a panel of specialist protection advisers. Bankhall says this will appeal to firms who do not wish to advise on this area but still want to make sure clients’ financial wellbeing is protected.

The panel compromises of protection firms Assured Future, Essential Insurance, Pure Protect and The Insurance Surgery.

This offering complements Sesame Bankhall Group’s recently launched ‘Protection Pledge’ adviser campaign, which aims to improve the financial resilience of UK households by committing advisers to talk about the need for protection with every client.

The campaign follows research among 424 directly authorised firms that found almost  half (48%) said they needed more support on how to advise business owners and the self-employed on their protection needs.

Bankhall and PMS managing director Ross Liston says: “These four referral partners are established experts in their field and offer a range of quality protection advice solutions.

“Protection is a hugely important issue and one that advisers need to discuss with all their clients. By encouraging advisers to stress the importance of getting covered to protect against the unexpected, we can help consumers to become more financially resilient.”
