Kula Country Farms Pumpkin Patch

September 29 - October 30, 2024

Kula Country Farms

The Kula Country Farms Pumpkin Patch will be open from September 29 to October 30, 2024, daily from 9 AM to 3:45 PM. Admission is $5 for ages 4 and up, and free for those 3 and under. The farm offers various pumpkin varieties, from carving pumpkins to decorative gourds, as well as a farm stand with fresh produce, flowers, and holiday gifts. Drinks and snacks are available during the week, with additional food options on weekends. Visitors can enjoy picnic areas, and wagons are available for carrying pumpkins. Comfortable footwear is recommended.

 

Paddle for Life

October 12-13, 2024

Lahaina, Maui and Manele Bay, Lana'i

Support The Pacific Cancer Foundation in their 14th Annual Paddle for Life. Participants paddle 36 miles to the island of Lana’i, where they camp overnight before paddling back the next day. This year’s event brings together 25 canoes and over 450 cancer survivors and supporters in a celebration of strength and unity, raising awareness and fostering community through this meaningful open-ocean journey. It's a unique way to honor those affected by cancer and support a vital cause.

 

2024 Maui Steel Guitar Festival

October 19, 2024 – The Shops At Wailea

The event will feature performances by well-known steel guitarists, including Alan Akaka, Bobby Ingano, and Geri Valdriz, along with other talented musicians. There will also be opportunities for attendees to experience hands-on steel guitar sessions. The festival is free and open to the public, providing a fun, cultural experience for all ages.

Hawaii International Film Festival

October 19-20

Maui Arts and Cultural Center

The Hawai‘i International Film Festival (HIFF), dedicated to advancing cultural exchange and understanding among Asia, the Pacific, and North America, showcases films from around the world, drawing over 50,000 attendees annually. HIFF brings attention to both the similarities and differences between cultures through the powerful medium of film.

Kaniela: The Daniel Kaleikini Story (1:00 PM): A tribute to the late "Ambassador of Aloha," showcasing his career in Hawaiian tourism and entertainment.

Made in Hawai‘i Shorts Program (3:00 PM): Four shorts, including Healing Lahaina and It’s Shave Ice, which explore Hawaiian heritage, climate change, and cultural stories.

One Million Dolla (5:30 PM): A mockumentary about a houseless man in Maui who unexpectedly inherits a million dollars.

Terrestrial (8:00 PM): A sci-fi comedy about a teacher facing personal challenges, featuring a mysterious creature.

Shaka: A Story of Aloha (1:00 PM): A documentary tracing the origins of Hawaii’s iconic shaka gesture and its cultural significance.

Standing Above the Clouds / The Queen’s Flowers (3:30 PM): A documentary on the Hawaiian women-led movement to protect Mauna Kea and an animated short about a Hawaiian girl's gift for Queen Liliʻuokalani.

Moloka‘i Bound (6:00 PM): A story of redemption following a Hawaiian man’s journey to reconnect with his son after incarceration.

Tickets go on sale September 26, 2024, and are available online. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable donations for the Maui Food Bank. 

14th Annual Hawaii Food & Wine Festival

October 25-27, 2024

Kaanapali

This premier culinary event brings together world-renowned chefs, sommeliers, and mixologists to showcase gourmet dishes made from local Hawaiian ingredients. Attendees can enjoy a variety of exclusive food and wine experiences, all set against Maui’s beautiful backdrop. This year’s festivities take place at Roy's Kaanapali, Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa and Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows. It’s a must-attend event for food lovers looking to indulge in the best of Pacific cuisine.
