For the first time in PGA Tour Champions history, there will be a zero-waste event on the Tour schedule.

Last Monday, the tournament announced that the 2021 edition of the event will be a Zero Waste Tournament. in addition to re-purposing, reusing, recycling, or donating the majority of the items used to put on the tournament, TimberTech also announced, in conjunction with their FULL-CIRCLE program, that they will be holding a plastic bag collection drive and raffle. Those attending the TimberTech Championship can bring their old plastic bags and recycle them at the tournament for a chance to win a set of two Adirondack chairs, a matching side table – both made from recycled materials – and a TimberTech swag bag.

“TimberTech stands for sustainability, creating unique outdoor experiences, and high performing products. We believe in building the best quality, highest performing, and most sustainable products on the market – and then letting the product speak for itself,” said Paul Kardish, Chief Legal Officer for AZEK, TimberTech’s parent company.

The 2021 edition of the TimberTech Championship will once again be held at The Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca but for the first time will no longer be a full-field event. Beginning this year, the event will now be part of the Charles Schwab Playoffs. As the second playoff event, the event will host the top 54 remaining players on the Tour's money list after the completion of the first playoff event.

In addition to the zero-waste announcement, the tournament also announced that for this year's event, all active and retired members of the military, frontline workers, and children under the age of 17 will receive complimentary entry into the event.

The TimberTech Championship will be held November 5-7.
