The Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter (MIMHC) has launched the second video in its interview series, ‘Keeping the mental health conversation going’.
It sees Crystal Specialist Finance group sales director Jason Berry speak to Movin Legal key relationship director Emma Hall, whose firm was one of the first signatory companies to The Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter (MIMHC).
Hall discusses the reasons for Movin Legal to sign up to the charter given the supportive culture already thriving within the company. Since joining MIMHC, this culture had flourished, and she explains how.
In their wide-ranging discussion, Hall also talks candidly about her own anxiety and her coping mechanisms to manage it as well as how to spot the signs that colleagues may be suffering from poor mental health and how best to support them.
In forthcoming videos, Berry, also a founding member of MIMHC, will be talking with more key figures across the mortgage industry about how they keep the mental health conversation going in their businesses.
MIMHC is a not-for-profit organisation that was founded to raise awareness of employees’ mental health and how the industry can take positive action to improve it.
A total of seven firms co-founded the initiative, who agree to commit to the following:

- To provide employees with good working conditions that encourage a healthy work life balance and opportunities for development.
- To promote effective people management through line managers and ensure there is a focus on physical and mental wellbeing as well as performance.
- To routinely monitor employee mental health and wellbeing through surveys and regular contact with managers.
- To have a named contact for mental health support.
