Marsden Building Society has appointed Jo Cave as its head of mortgages.

The mutual says Cave “will play a crucial role in the society’s ambitious plans for growth within the mortgage market, which includes the development of new platforms and assisted decisioning to provide an enhanced service to intermediaries and their clients”.

It adds that its front office portal development is scheduled for late 2025, which will improve customer applications.

Veteran Cave (pictured) worked for 20 years at Barclays, where she held various mortgage roles, including operations manager and a lending specialist.

The society adds: “She [Cave] brings with her a wealth of experience having worked in financial services for a total of 23 years, including coaching and supporting two mortgage centres in Mumbai and Chennai, India.”

Marsden Building Society operations director Heather Crinion says: “The next few years will be significant for the Marsden, as we look to develop and grow the services that we offer our intermediary partners.”

Cave adds: “It’s exciting to join at such a pivotal time for the Society, and I’m looking forward to supporting with bringing in new business and helping to improve the mortgage journey for both members and colleagues.

“Especially as we introduce new tools, like assisted decisioning, to make the process smoother and more efficient.”
