Broker L&C Mortgages has moved to its new Bath headquarters.

L&C said the move from Beazer House, where it was base for more than 20 years, marks an “exciting new chapter” for the firm.

The new offices are based in the Newark Works development on the Bath Quays.

It was designed and created by Bath-based workplace design company Interaction.

The new premises have been chosen for their ability to offer L&C and its 450 employees everything that is required of the modern workplace and to accommodate the era of flexible and hybrid working patterns.

The workplace provides 4,864sq ft of adaptable office space for both focussed and collaborative working.

Interaction also designed the communal spaces at Newark Works including a centrepiece bar and entrance area to foster community between tenants, creating a destination hub for Bath’s creative businesses.

L&C is a key provider of fee free mortgage advice to homebuyers, homeowners, and landlords across the UK.

It also operates an office in Newcastle, which made a change of address earlier this year.

L&C chief executive Alan Young said: “As a major employer in Bath and the surrounding areas, it’s vital for us to retain our central position in the city. Newark Works is an exciting new development that fits the needs of our business as we continue in our drive to ensure that UK mortgage holders get the very best advice without having to pay a fee.”

Interaction managing director Dieter Wood added: “L&C are a great local success story so we were super excited to be asked to design their new headquarters in Bath.

“It will provide them with the flexible workspace they need to support hybrid working while helping to nurture a sense of community and greater collaboration.”
