The second annual Roots and Ruts Off Road 5K and Family Fun Run is back again and will be happening this Saturday, April 24th.  The Els for Autism Foundation started the event to raise awareness and to celebrate April Autism Awareness Month.

The event will take place at the North Jupiter Flatwoods, the first certified autism-friendly trail in Florida. The trail will serve as both a fundraiser to support Autism Awareness and to celebrate the strides our community has taken and continues to take to bring awareness and acceptance.

The 5K and Family Fun Run will begin at The Els Center of Excellence campus in Jupiter, off Limestone Creek Road. The race will have staggered start times or waves throughout the race. Those who wish to participate can select their wave or start time based on their own mile pace and skill level. All are welcomed to participate in the event. The first wave will begin at 7:30 am, participants will run through the adjacent Norther Jupiter Flatwood Natural Area and enjoy the beautiful scenery of native Florida habitats.

The entry for adults is $35 dollars and entry for children 14 years and younger costs $25 dollars. Registration includes a shirt and a finisher metal for all participants. The event is also hosting a virtual run for those who cannot make it to Jupiter for the event. The virtual run is $10 dollars and runner anywhere in the world can upload their results and receive a certificate for their participation.
