Sarah Tucker has become the chief executive and sole owner of broker The Mortgage Mum.
Tucker incorporated the business with co-founder Jamie Lewis in 2018 and they worked in an equal partnership as joint directors since then.
Lewis has now decided to step back from the business and will focus on his other venture as managing director of broker Affinity Mortgages.
Tucker says: “We both knew that when the time was right, I would take over the business in full, and that time is now.
“I will always be incredibly grateful to Jamie for seeing our vision and helping to bring it to life – without him, we wouldn’t be where we are today.”
Lewis says he saw the potential in Tucker early in her broking career as she blueprinted what would later become The Mortgage Mum while working in his company.
“I am so proud to have been part of this, and watching these incredible ladies build their businesses has been nothing short of amazing.
“I will always be a huge champion of The Mortgage Mum, and a continued source of support if Sarah or the team ever needed me.
“Sarah and I will remain the closest of friends, and I am incredibly proud to see her fly her wings.
“The Mortgage Mum is in very safe hands with her.”
Since its inception, The Mortgage Mum’s focus has been on offering flexible working opportunities to women in the mortgage advice field and has grown to over 50 advisers, achieving £200m in lending in 2023.
Tucker adds: “I am so excited to lead The Mortgage Mum into the future now, and we have so many amazing projects we are working on. This is a very exciting time for us.”
