On weekends in Southeast Florida, Tri-Rail offers $5 all-day fares for its train routes throughout Southeast Florida. So, if you are looking to get out of town, or the house, get to some of Southeast Florida hotspots, or just visit family or friends, it’s a good option.  Tri-Rail allows you to abandon the hassle of driving and finding parking.

According to the National Safety Council, did you know that commuter rail is the safest means of travel in the United States?  Also, 4.1 billion gallons of gas are saved by riding public transportation.

Tri-Rail reached 100 million riders in July 2021.  It was exactly 32 and a half years since the agency’s inception on January 9, 1989. South Florida Regional Transportation Authority’s Executive Director and staff celebrated the occasion handing out thank you cards to Tri-Rail passengers, with an opportunity to win a special prize of a Tri-Rail pass, commemorative t-shirt, or a $5 Dunkin’ Donut’s gift card.

The Tri-Rail runs daily. Weekday trips start at 4:00am with the last trip at 8:40pm and most often run about every 1 hour. Weekend trips start at 5:50am with the last trip at 9:00pm and most often run about every 1 hour.

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority has installed hand sanitizer dispensers on all Tri-Rail trains and at all 18 train stations, as an additional measure for passengers and staff to remain safe during the pandemic.
