Somewhere along the way it became a best practice in our industry to post incessantly on social media, to obsessively track our leads, followers, views, likes and shares.
But if we're to be honest with ourselves, most of us don't enjoy this type of work. It's not the type of behavior that we would choose to model for our own kids.
And yet, we do it anyway. The pressure to post is powerful and real.
A good alternative to all of the self-promotion and posting is to make helping a habit instead. Focus on being a professional who is here to serve others. And do it in a manner that's consistent with our values and true to our heart. The path forward isn't easy, but it's worth the effort and the work.
