Zoopla says it has signed a wide-ranging deal with Persimmon to use the property website’s software services “until at least 2025”.

The contract, signed for an undisclosed sum, means that all of the FTSE 100 housebuilding group’s housing stock will be processed through Zoopla’s software suite – giving conveyancers and mortgage brokers the ability to connect to Persimmon buyers through Zoopla’s sales progression portal.

It will also see Persimmon adopt the proptech Yourkeys software, which allows the housebuilder to digitally onboard buyers, aid sales and marketing effectiveness, as well as manage anti-money laundering checks from a single platform.

The move boosts the housebuilder’s data transparency, which will allow it to more easily comply with the New Homes Quality Board, as the software suite generates and stores a digital record of the whole homebuying journey.

Zoopla chief commercial officer Andy Marshall says: “Persimmon’s investment highlights their ambition to be the most forward-thinking, tech-savvy and customer focussed housebuilder in the country.

“This new chapter in our partnership builds on our already long-standing relationship and will not only deliver a best-in-class customer experience for Persimmon customers – but will also drive efficiencies that will put them ahead of the curve for next year and beyond.”

Persimmon chief customer experience officer Sonia Da Costa adds: “This investment in Zoopla’s leading technology for customers and colleagues shows our determination to make purchasing a new home with Persimmon as easy as possible.”

Zoopla bought software business Yourkeys in April 2021 for an undisclosed sum, which saw the transfer of 25 of the protech firm’s staff, including founder and chief executive Riccardo Iannucci-Dawson.
