Vida Y Tacos | A Delightful Bend Oregon Experience

After hearing about a new taco shop on the westside, we had to go check it out. Our initial reservation was easily changed after having a great talk with the cashier - a Southerner who had moved to Bend Oregon for the lifestyle and change from the American South.

After perusing the menu, it was decided that 1) We needed to try the margaritas, because it was a very warm day outside. And 2) The El Pastor taco was a must, and came highly recommended by our new friend.

The result? A great outdoor patio experience! While this location appears close to Century drive, the shrubbery and trees truly block out any loud road noises. We were able to have a great conversation, at a normal decibel level.

The margaritas were refreshing, and for the size reasonably priced. We had the traditional which was on the slightly sweet side but very welcome in the heat of the day!

The Tacos- Tasty and creative. While Taco y Vida has their classics down, they have a few creative taco options as well. We’d recommend trying the Ahi Poke Taco, a little taste of Hawaii at home here in Bend. The fish was fresh, not fishy, and has a great sauce with it, served on a wedge of cabbage which creates an interesting eating experience.

The other tacos we tried included the Carnitas; a classic blend of flavors, tender meat, and the salsa verde was a great addition. Our final taco was the Barbacoa which had a deep herbal flavor and was topped with salsa rojo which paired very well with the meat.

Overall review? Great customer service, Great patio space, Refreshing margaritas, and Tasty Tacos! Definitely a low-key spot to check out after floating the river or biking on Bachelor!
