PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Camden (April 2021)

Annemarie Ahearn takes great pleasure in introducing folks to Mid-Coast Maine, as she’s proud to call it home. Through her cooking school, she has watched many families fall in love with Coastal Maine and find ways to build legacies of their own. “Becoming a real estate agent with Sotheby’s International Realty has allowed me to be a part of that process for people which feels like the ultimate privilege. I am thrilled to have joined this spectacular team and will help those aspiring to live here in the Mid-Coast realize their dreams,” she said.

“We are pleased to welcome Annemarie Ahearn to our Camden office. Her love for the Maine lifestyle is palpable and her attention to detail, as well as her knowledge of the area, will serve our clients well,” said Chris Lynch, owner and founder. Brian Wickenden, Camden Managing Broker added, “Agents in our office recommended we meet with her. We are thrilled to welcome Annemarie to the team.”

As a child, Annemarie Ahearn spent summers on her family’s blueberry farm in Dresden, Maine picking fruit with her cousins and getting lost in the woods. They began renting homes along the coast when she was a teenager, paddling the ocean waters in kayaks and hiking up into the Camden Hills. In 1999, a real estate agent named George Wheelwright showed her parents a rugged, 25 acre piece of land in Lincolnville overlooking the Penobscot Bay. Her parents had a vision for the land and over the course of twenty years, have executed that vision.

After 10 years of working in New York City’s food industry, Annemarie moved onto the property into an antique post & beam barn that her parents had built. In the lower level of the barn, she dreamt of building a cooking school for home cooks in this picturesque location between the mountains and the sea. In 2009, she opened the doors to Salt Water Farm Cooking School and students from near and far registered for classes. Salt Water Farm Cooking School is now 12 years old and offers over 60 classes to students from around the globe.

One of things Annemarie most loves about living in Maine is the community. With her husband, originally from Maine, and daughter they have built so many meaningful relationships. They spend weekends hiking, skiing, swimming and paddling; taking full advantage of the natural elements this place has to offer. Annemarie is a board member of the Penobscot Bay YMCA, an organization that strives to nurture the community though healthy living practices, full-time childcare and a myriad of community-building services such as summer camps.
