Following the successful launch of the Mortgage Strategy Run Club in London, Mortgage Strategy — in association with the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter (MIMHC) — is proud to announce the launch of its Northern Chapter in Manchester.
The new chapter will be led by Matt Horton, Head of Marketing at Black & White Bridging, who shares the club’s belief that regular movement, connection, and open conversation are vital to creating a healthier, more human mortgage industry.
First Northern Run is on Thursday 7 November 2025. Time: 12.30pm with the meeting point outside the Oast House in Spinningfields, M3 3AY.
The quiet 5k route will take the runners along the canal and into media city, and then back…followed by coffee and informal conversation.
As with the original London meet-up, the format is simple and inclusive: no pressure, no pace — just a consistent space for people from across the industry to move, breathe, and build real community, one step at a time on the first Thursday of every month.
Commenting, Mortgage Strategy commercial director and founder of the Mortgage Strategy Run Club James Prosser, said:
“This is exactly what the Run Club is all about — giving people across our industry consistent space to prioritise their wellbeing, connect with others, and reset from the rush. Expanding to Manchester means we can grow that movement in a way that’s genuinely inclusive, and I couldn’t think of a better person than Matt to lead it. The more we show up — together — the stronger this industry becomes.”
Black & White head of marketing Matt Horton explained he had seen first-hand how powerful something as simple as a regular run and a conversation can be for mental health and connection. “I’m proud to bring this initiative to Manchester and offer people in the North a chance to step away from the noise, get moving, and feel part of something positive and supportive.”
Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter co-founder Jason Berry said: “We created MIMHC to encourage more open, supportive environments across the industry — and the run club is a perfect example of that in action. It’s not just about physical movement; it’s about emotional momentum. The launch of a Northern chapter is a brilliant step forward.”
