Advisers in the Primis mortgage network will soon be about to use Experian’s electronic ID verification system for customer due diligence purposes.

The system, delivered through Experian’s Affordability Passport, will cross reference customer personal information and provide tools to help advisers navigate anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism legislation.

It will also, Primis adds, integrate with its CRM system Toolbox, so no scanned or copied documents will be required and customer details will not need to be rekeyed.

Primis chief operating officer Toni Smith says: “ By simplifying and streamlining this element of the advice process, Experian’s EiDV tool will give advisers more time to dedicate to their clients, and we are confident that the new system will be extremely valuable to our broker community going forwards, particularly as many continue to work remotely during the Covid-19 crisis.”

Experian managing director of data services Lisa Fretwell adds: “We’ve seen signs of a road to recovery for the mortgage market in the last month, with applications for mortgages back at levels we saw before the lockdown.

“We are excited to be partnering with Primis, helping to respond to this growing demand in the market. By using Experian technology and data, we can streamline processes and help improve engagement with customers.”
