ModaMortgages has hired two business development managers to cover the South East of England and the South West ahead of its launch.

The specialist buy-to-let mortgage lender is owned by Chetwood Financial, a Wrexham-based digital bank founded in 2016.

Shannon O’Malley will cover the South East of England for the business, and had previously worked for Landbay as a telephone business development manager. This is her first field-based role.

It adds that Thomas Churchill will cover the South West, South Midlands and South Wales.

He has a decade’s experience in the industry having previously worked for the Co-operative Bank, where he spent over five years, leaving as a key account relationship manager. Prior to that, he worked as a business development manager at TSB.

They will report to the firm’s head of sales Scott Phillips, while Darrell Walker, ModaMortgage’s director of sales and distribution, oversees the entire sales and business development manager team, along with distribution.

Walker says: “Shannon and Thomas are wonderful additions to our team, and this increases our coverage across all regions of England and Wales, which will ensure we deliver the best possible support to brokers nationwide as we prepare for our launch.”

In May, Chetwood Financial bought buy-to-let lender CHL Mortgages for Intermediaries for an undisclosed fee, which will operate alongside ModaMortgages.
