Sancus Lending UK has established a social housing division with the appointment of Alex Bodie as social housing director.

Bodie joins with over 25 years of experience in financial services, including senior roles in consumer and corporate lending.

He brings expertise in social housing and a strong belief in finance as a tool for good.

Previously, he launched and led a dedicated social housing lending division, helping to fund safe and secure homes for vulnerable people across the UK.

Based in Sancus’ Manchester office, Bodie will lead the business’s social housing efforts across England.

He is currently working with providers and aims to grow a national platform that combines strong governance with flexible funding models.

Commenting on his appointment, Bodie says: “I’m delighted to be spearheading the new social housing division at Sancus. We want to build a brand in social housing that’s respected, scalable and focused on doing the right thing – from legal due diligence to lending structures.”

“We don’t build enough affordable homes in the UK and there is a clear gap between high street banks and the needs of smaller, dynamic housing providers. At Sancus, we have the flexibility and intent to fill that space, responsibly and at scale.”

Last week, Sancus Lending hired Steve Thompson as relationship director, bolstering its national origination team.
