Boating safety is immensely meaningful. Cross over any waterway in the  Palm Beach County  area and glance at of boaters enjoying the water. One of the benefits of living the Palm Beaches is the ability to jump on a boat, get out on the water, and soak up the daylight.

Since 2010, Florida requires that any person who wishes to operate a vessel of more than ten horsepower or more and is born after January 1st, 1988, must pass and complete a boater safety course 

The Florida does not have a “boating license” per se, however, there is a Boater Safety Identification Card. The course can either be done in person or online. The Boater Safety Identification Card states that the course has been accomplished. The State does not require a follow-up or a renewal requirement, once the card is issued the card it is valid for life. Officials recommend that boaters stay up to date and review the local boating rules and regulations.

There are a variety of Boating Safety Courses to choose from. Upon course completion and successful passing of the exam, a Temporary Boating Certificate will be issued. The Temporary Boating Certificate is active instantly. The actual Boater Safety Education Identification Card will be mailed in the subsequent days.
