Emma Vigus, chair of WIRP, said: “We’ve been supporting Ella’s for the last 18 months.
“It’s a small charity that provides vital support to women who’ve been the victims of trafficking and slavery.
“The pandemic has made everyone’s lives tougher, but it’s been even harder for the team at Ella’s who’ve been faced with the challenges of continuing to provide vital support during lockdown.
“We’re so proud of the work Ella’s does and we’re delighted to be able to support them.”
Last year saw membership of WIRP grow to over 400 with 50 attending the last meeting of the year.
Members come from a broad range of sectors, from estate agency through to surveying, conveyancing and mortgage broking.
Kate Faulkner, chair of the Home Buyers and Sellers Group, added that the group are “a refreshing, vibrant group of people that are smart, kind and innovative. Some of the best discussions of current issues I have, are on this group”.
The next WIRP meeting is scheduled for the 4 February when the guest speaker will be Dr Evelyn Ong, a transplant surgeon at Birmingham Children’s’ Hospital.
Evelyn will discussing the lessons to be learnt from the NHS’s approach to crisis management.
