OneSavings Bank group managing director, mortgages Alan Cleary is set to retire in the coming months.

Cleary, a well-known face and name in the mortgage industry, has worked in the field for more than 30 years. He has been at the helm of Precise Mortgages for 11 years, overseeing the Charter Court merger with OneSavings Bank in 2019.

He told Mortgage Strategy: “I have loved working with mortgage intermediaries and have so many brilliant memories that it is impossible to pick the best one.

“I will be around for a few months but I have plenty of things to keep me busy.  We are building a new family home and my daughter is getting married next year so I want to spend my time with family and friends.”

And he had a message for those joining the mortgage sector.

“To anyone starting out in the industry I would say it is a very rewarding place to work. You are helping people make homes for their families, which is something to be proud of.”
