StreamBank has appointed Mike Kirsopp as chief executive at the specialist property lender.

Kirsopp takes over from chief financial officer Jean-Pierre Flais, who has acted as interim chief executive since November after former head Steve Pateman left the business.

Kirsopp brings over 35 years of experience in financial services with a range of experience in start-up and property banks, serving as a non-executive director and then chair of GB Bank for three years.

He was also part of the founding team of Cambridge & Counties Bank, where he worked for nine years, leaving as chief executive in 2021.

Kirsopp has served as a non-executive director at StreamBank for three years.

The lender, which focuses on bridging, development finance and commercial lending, was granted a banking licence last February.

StreamBank founder and owner Alex Pusco says: “With Mike’s experience in our chosen markets and passion for delivering customer-focused solutions, I’m confident he will be able to guide the bank through the next stage in their growth plans from a position of continuity and deep understanding of our purpose — to serve specialist property customers, through the combination of experience, judgement and desire to find a solution.”

Kirsopp adds: “It is tremendously exciting to return to the front line supporting our builders, developers and property specialists who are so important to our economy.”
