Online mortgage broker Trussle has vowed to deliver mortgage decisions in five days of submissions.

The new service has been titled the ‘Mortgage Speed Promise’, which Trussle says will see customers offered mortgage advice within 24 hours and a mortgage decision within five days.

The broker says the pandemic has prolonged delays in mortgage decisions with some lenders taking up to 15 days to come to a conclusion.

The service launched yesterday, 13 September and the broker says it will “only work with the UK’s fastest lenders to deliver on its five day service commitment.”

Currently nine lenders are part of the service, they are Halifax, HSBC, Barclays, BM Solutions, Clydesdale Bank, Fleet Mortgages, Godiva, Post Office and Scottish Widows.

The broker says it is working with other lenders to improve their approval times to include them in the service at a later date.

Trussle chief executive Ian Larkin says: “Buying a new home should be an exciting time, and so it’s such a shame that it’s considered one of the most stressful processes in life. Trussle was created to make mortgage applications easier and now we want to give our customers the certainty they desperately need at a very early stage in the process.

“By using technology and automation to cut out needless hassle, we can give our customers decisions in days not weeks, without compromising on service, to hopefully bring some of that excitement back to buying a home.”
