Jupiter is a cross between Old Florida and the tropics, its native landscapes and colorful reefs make it a great place to live. Here are 5 fun, outdoor things to do in Jupiter.

Explore the Sound

Now is the perfect time to explore through Jupiter Sound. When the ocean temperatures cool, manatees migrate to the warmer waters of the sound. To get up close and personal with these gentle giants, opt for a motor-free water vessel rental from Jupiter Outdoor Center.

Paddle the Loxahatchee

Head to Riverbend Park, which connects to the Everglades along the Loxahatchee River, for a fun day on the water. With low-hanging branches and proximity to wildlife, you will feel like you are paddling the jungle. Make the trip by kayak or stand-up paddleboard, carving through cypress forest while you glimpse gators, herons and turtles.

Snorkel Carlin Park

Carlin Park is one of the best places in the Palm Beaches to get started snorkeling. The park prohibits boats for safe splashing; therefore, no dive flag is required. To get started, you just need to bring your gear and walk out to the reef. You can see angelfish and eagle rays flying through the tide.

Bring Your Dog to The Beach

Jupiter is home to one of the few dog beaches along the East Coast, it runs along from Beach Marker #25 (Marcinski Road), to Marker #60. It’s important, however, to follow the simple, easy-to-follow rules while you’re there.

Spelunk The Shore at Blowing Rocks

The Nature Conservancy’s Blowing Rocks Preserve, which is just minutes from Jupiter, is the largest outcropping of Anastasia limestone that lines Jupiter Island. In low tide, you can explore the open-air caves created by colliding waves breaking down the limestone. You can go spelunking (caving) right on the shore, while peering out to the turquoise water. In high tide, watch the sea spray shoot up 20-50 feet in the air.
