Aldermore has promoted Damian Thompson from director of mortgages to group managing director of retail finance.

This comes after the current group managing director of retail finance Sue Hayes, announced her departure from Aldermore.

Thompson joined the specialist bank in 2017 and has over 27 years of industry experience. He has worked at HBOS, Principality Building Society and Newcastle Building Society.

Aldermore chief executive Phillip Monks says: “Thompson has made a significant contribution to Aldermore since he joined us; driving forward growth in our mortgage offering, in particular in the first-time buyer and buy to let markets.
