Penrith Building Society will temporarily scrap mortgage application fees for residential and BTL mortgages.
The move by the mutual covers application fees for new and existing borrowers, including further advances, submitted between 8 January and 31 March.
Penrith Building Society head of products Tim Vigeon says “At Penrith Building Society, we put the customer at the forefront of our product development and thinking.
“We understand the pressures customers are facing and this move demonstrates our ongoing commitment to supporting homeowners and landlords.”
The business adds all other fees remain.
Vigeon was appointed as the mutual’s head of product in November.
He was most recently associate business development manager at Darlington Intermediaries for almost two years.
Before that, he worked at Buckinghamshire Building Society for around six years, initially as mortgage manager before taking on the role of lending head.
Prior to that, he spent around five years with the Financial Ombudsman Service for almost five years and before that spent over 23 years at Nationwide.
