Harpenden Building Society appoints Pearce as CEO Mortgage Strategy

Harpenden Building Society has appointed Tracie Pearce as its new chief executive. 

Pearce joins from Santander where she worked for just under three years, leaving as chief customer officer, homes. 

She replaces Richard Doe who lead the mutual for four years. 

Prior to that, Pearce worked at HSBC UK for just under six-and-a-half years as head of mortgages before becoming the director of retail banking. 

She began her career at Portman Building Society before moving to Nationwide Building Society following the merger of the two societies. In her 19 years in the mutual business, she ran the prime and specialist mortgage portfolios and savings book. 

Pearce says: “Returning to the building society sector feels like coming home, especially after previously dedicating 19 years to helping members achieve their financial goals and homeownership.” 

Harpenden Building Society chair Nigel Boothroyd adds: “She will lead our journey of sustainable growth, outstanding customer service and making a difference in the communities we serve.”
