Toll Brothers, one of the largest homebuilders in the United States, is acquiring a private homebuilder based in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Headquartered in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, Toll Brothers' purchase of Buffington Homes of Arkansas will expand its national footprint with a strong presence in northwest Arkansas, the company said in a press release Tuesday.
Toll Brothers expects the transaction to be completed in its fiscal third quarter, which ends July 31. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Buffington Homes, founded in 2010, has nine communities in the area either active selling or coming soon. The company mainly serves first-time and move-up buyers with prices ranging from $400,000 to more than $1 million. It also controls or owns over 1,500 properties in northwest Arkansas, according to the release.
Every employee, including senior leadership, from Buffington Homes will join Toll Brothers. Founding partners and co-owners Clay Carlton and Mike Lamberth will primarily work on land acquisition and development, while Mike Buffington, co-owner and brother of late founder Thomas Buffington, will be stepping away from the business to focus on his family, the release said.

Toll Brothers will have completed 16 homebuilder acquisitions over the last 30 years once the Buffington Homes deal is finalized. Since 2019, Toll Brothers has entered Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee with the acquisitions of Sharp Residential, Sabal Homes and Thrive Residential. It also expanded its presence in Texas in 2022 with the purchase of Rialto Homes.
