Pepper Money has hired Sam Bickerton as its regional development manager for Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, and parts of London. 

The specialist lender says Bickerton will advise brokers on “cases that fall outside the mould of the mainstream mortgage lender, whether that be due to adverse credit, credit score, or a complex income structure”. 

Bickerton has worked in the mortgage business for more than a dozen years, and joins from more2life where he was its business development manager in the South East. 

Prior to that, he spent almost six years at Just Group in various roles, leaving as a business development manager last August. 

Pepper Money director of business development Ryan Brailsford says: “In the current environment, it’s more important than ever for brokers to work closely with their business development managers to understand which lenders are best placed to meet the needs of their customers.  

“More and more customers are falling outside of the strict criteria of mainstream lenders due to their income structure, affordability, or credit profile, but there are excellent options with specialist lenders like Pepper Money.

Bickerton adds that in the current environment, borrowers will benefit from a “straightforward approach to clear criteria [and] individual underwriting”.
