United Trust Bank has hired Gary Lomax as a business development manager in its bridging finance division as the lender continues to develop its national support for brokers.

Lomax has a near 20-year track record in specialist finance working with lenders and was most recently at Together Money, where he worked for two-and-a-half years as regional account manager for the North.

He has also worked for Selina Finance as a business development manager, Smart Money as a national account manager and Shawbrook Bank as a business development manager.

United Trust Bank says Lomax will report to bridging head of sales Paula Purdy.

Purdy says: “Gary is a highly respected figure in the specialist property finance market, and I am delighted to have him on the team.

“His knowledge of a wide range of property finance options will be a great asset as we continue to develop our unregulated bridging business and strengthen relationships with brokers in the North of England.”

Lomax adds: “I am looking forward to working with Paula Purdy, [United Trust Bank director of bridging] Sundeep Patel and all the UTB bridging team as we continue developing great relationships with our valued broker partners and delivering growth across regulated and unregulated lending.”

This hire is the latest in a stream of senior appointments in the bank’s bridging unit, which this summer restructured its underwriting operations into separate teams for regulated and unregulated loans. Last month, the division appointed Adetayo Odukoya to the newly-created role of head of servicing.
