Just Mortgages has opened applications for its next broker academy, which will run in April.

This is the second time Just Mortgages has run this training scheme. Just says it expects high levels of demand for these places, with over 750 applicants for eight places on their first training course.

In recent years Just has significantly expanded its self-employed broker division. This division, which was set up in 2017, now has 345 self-employed brokers.

These training courses are part of Just Mortgages’ ambitions growth plans. Alongside growth in its self-employed broker division, Just plans to increase the 20 brokers working in its new build division to 34 brokers within the next year.

Longer-term, the firm envisions moving from the 500 brokers it employs today to 1,000 by 2023/24.

The academy is designed to offer training for those looking to go down this route. It will support recruits through exams and provide training in lead generation and other ‘soft skills’ needed in the broker role.

Applicants will need to have knowledge of the mortgage industry and have completed their CeMPA 1.

Just Mortgages head of training Rodney Sloan says: “While the economy has struggled, the housing market has continued to be incredibly robust. The applications we have already seen shows how much interest there is currently [in these opportunities].”
