Lloyds Banking Group head of housing and sustainability Andy Mason is to retire after 30 years with the lender.
Mason began his career as a financial adviser at the Lloyds Jarrow branch and spent a lot of his early career working in investments, pensions and protection, before moving to mortgages as head of intermediary products.
He worked closely with the Intermediary team, where he later moved as Head of Housing and Sustainability in 2020.
A spokesperson says Mason’s leadership of the Housing and Sustainability team, helped Halifax retain its leading position in the new build mortgage market and that he was instrumental in supporting the group’s societal housing ambitions, leading to the first Lloyds Banking Group Housing Senate in 2022 and, more recently, establishing the Shared Ownership Council.
LBG managing director intermediaries Esther Dijkstra says: “On behalf of Lloyds Banking Group, I would like to thank Andy for his dedication and leadership, and I wish him well in this next phase of life.”
Mason says: “It has been a very enjoyable career with the Group, during which I’ve had wonderful colleagues and made many friends in the industry. I look forward to spending more time with my family but I don’t doubt my naturally curious mind will open the door to new adventures sometime in the future!”
Mason will retire on 5 April and LBG says the search for a successor has started.
