Aldermore has hired Azfar Rizvi as head of commercial real estate as part of its business finance leadership team.

The lender says Rizvi will be responsible for developing the bank’s proposition for developers, institutional investors and owner-occupiers across both residential and commercial sectors.

It adds that he will also “focus on providing flexible, relationship-led finance solutions across sectors and deal types, supporting Aldermore’s ambitions to grow its presence in the UK property market”.

Rizvi joins from NatWest, where he worked for over nine years, leaving as a regional director for real estate.

Aldermore says: “His track record of originating and managing complex real estate transactions, coupled with long-standing relationships across the market, will help Aldermore strengthen its capability to back commercial real estate clients and broker partners.”

Aldermore managing director, business finance and savings Danielle Soto points out: “His deep knowledge of the commercial property market and proven leadership in structured real estate finance make him a great fit as we scale our commercial real estate offering.”

Rizvi adds: “With big ambitions for growth, my focus is on helping Aldermore strengthen its commercial real estate proposition across the UK – writing more deals, backing more investors and developers and making a real difference for clients and broker partners.”
