Protection and health insurer The Exeter has appointed Gordon Greig as their new strategy and change director.

Greig, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, joins The Exeter from his previous position as protection proposition director at Royal London.

He will also be joining the insurer’s executive board and will oversee its proposition and change teams.

In his role, Greig will be responsible for driving strategic planning, propositional design, projects, and change delivery, working in close collaboration with teams across the wider business.

The industry veteran has held previous several senior roles at the Prudential, Aegon and Royal London. At the latter he was responsible for introducing organisational agility to the company’s intermediary division before taking on leadership of their protection business.

The Exeter chief executive Isobel Langton said: “The Exeter has grown hugely as a business over the last decade to become a well-respected provider of income protection, life cover and health insurance.

“Looking forward, we aim to build on our recent successes. Greig’s experience and technical skill, as well as his commitment to always doing the right thing for the customer, will undoubtedly make him a valuable addition to our business.”

Commenting on his appointment Greig said: “I’m looking forward to collaborating with our teams and creating an environment in which they thrive, whilst ensuring that the customer remains front and centre in everything we do.”
