Sesame Bankhall has appointed Craig Ross as propositions director.

In his new role, Ross will focus on expanding Sesame’s wealth, protection, later life and mortgage services to appointed representative and directly authorised advisers.

He joins on Monday from Charles Stanley & Co where he is director of the financial planning proposition.

Prior to this he was head of proposition delivery at 1825 Financial Planning and his previous experience includes working as an IFA and paraplanner.

Ross will lead the newly-formed propositions team and report to chief executive Michele Golunska.

He will oversee plans to bolster Sesame’s mortgage, protection, general insurance and later life services to support the network’s member firms, as well as those it supports through PMS Mortgage Club and Bankhall.

To help with these plans, Sesame recently appointed Emma Thomson as head of protection and general insurance propositions as well as Skipton’s Alex Beavis who joins in June as mortgage and later life lending propositions director.

In the wealth market the focus will be on providing a broader range of tools to help financial planning firms run their businesses more efficiently.

Michele Golunska says: “Craig is a senior figure with an excellent track record in the design and build of new products and business services for advisory firms.

“Craig’s in-depth financial planning knowledge will be hugely beneficial in his new role leading our propositions team, who will help to deliver an exciting new range of market-leading investment, protection, and mortgage services.”

Ross adds that he is joining the business at an interesting time for the financial services industry.

He says: “The impact of the past 18 months has yet to be fully understood and we are in the midst of a period of unprecedented regulatory focus and change.

“The group is well known for the valuable services it consistently provides its members and clients, but I’ve been particularly impressed with its innovative agenda and desire to develop and broaden these further.

“I look forward to leading the propositions team in doing so and continuing to support our members and clients’ delivery of exceptional customer experience and outcomes.”
