Brokers and lenders in the mortgage industry have come together to host a live music event this summer to fundraise for Ukrainian orphans.

Likened to Live Aid, Ukraine Aid aims to raise £30,000 for several charities helping displaced Ukrainian orphans, including Unicef and World Vision.

The event will be held on 30 June at the Lafayette Concert Auditorium in Kings Cross, London and will include performances from a combination of top quality tribute acts and musical talent from within the mortgage industry.

The fundraiser is the brainchild of Mortgageforce managing director Kevin Duffy, with input from brokers and lenders across the mortgage industry.

The group is inviting 20 key lend partners to pledge support for the event, which will include several benefits such as 12 VIP tickets to the event with backstage access.

HSBC was an early supporter of the event and head of intermediary mortgages Chris Pearson told Mortgage Strategy why the lender got involved.

“Our thoughts are with all those impacted by the continuing conflict in Ukraine. Our amazing industry is coming together and getting behind such a worthy cause in an innovative way, and really showcasing what we can all do to support those people who need it most,” says Pearson.

“Our commitment to the broker market is not just about being a product provider and all the things that go with that, it’s also about helping with wider issues and causes that are important to the industry and making a real difference.”

Lender spots are available on a first-come first-served basis and interested parties should contact [email protected] with expressions of interest or any queries.
