Glenhawk has announced four new hires that follow three consecutive months of record lending in the run up to May.

The specialist lender has appointed Michael Clifford as commercial director, Simon Lee as head of mortgage operations, Sarah Wade as head of marketing and Jude Miranda as bridging credit manager.

Clifford brings over 15 years of relationship management, strategic development and project management experience and will report directly to founder and chief executive Guy Harrington.

He will oversee the launch and roll-out of the lender’s products across key markets, and his responsibilities include proposition development and product strategy in a bid to boost distribution and income.

Clifford joins from Hodge Bank, where he spent three years, leaving as head of commercial propositions overseeing the bank’s commercial investment, development, buy-to-let products, and defining product development strategy.

Lee, who has over thirty years of experience in the financial services industry, reports to the lender’s chief operations officer Damani Johnson and will work alongside the newly-appointed permanent head of technology Robert Kelly. Lee will be responsible for current mortgage operations and helping the business enter the specialist long-term secured lending market.

Lee joins the firm from Premium Credit, where he spent three years as head of underwriting, leading a 25-strong commercial underwriting department.

Wade, who has 18 years of financial services marketing experience, also reports directly to Harrington. She joins to bolster the company’s marketing function alongside group marketing director Gabriella Rees.

Wade previously spent 18 months at Foundation Loans as head of marketing.

Miranda will oversee all loan underwriting and manage a growing team of underwriters and case workers at the business. He has over 30 years of financial services experience and reports to managing director Nick Hilton. He joins from Masthaven where he was a senior underwriter.

Glenhawk’s Harrington says: “We have enjoyed an extremely strong first half, with a buoyant housing market and differentiated product proposition underpinning record lending volumes – in May alone our new regulated range saw enquiries increase by over 300%.

Attracting and retaining the best talent is absolutely critical in ensuring we can continue to innovate and deliver best in-class-client service. In particular, we look to Michael, Simon, Sarah and Jude’s experience to ensure we have all the tools at our disposal to build on our most recent launch success, as we progress other exciting growth initiatives.”
