Carmine's Coal Fired Pizza Ristorante in Jupiter knows how to make a good pizza. Their 900-degree coal-fired oven cooks pies with a crunchy crust and toasty toppings. The restaurant was given an "A" for Food and an "A" for service by Palm Beach Post food critic, Liz Balmaseda, last year making it the best on her review of eight Italian/Pizza shops in the Palm Beach County.

Here's why Carmine's is so great:

Upon entering the restaurant you'll be pleased to find an upscale atmosphere with clean lines, brick walls and thematic touches. The appetizer menu has a selection of delicious plates like Shrimp Zingara, a lightly fried shrimp in a rich spicy aioli sauce, Calamari Zucchini Fritti, a large plate of fried squid served with zucchini crisps, and the Italian Sausage and Broccoli Rabe, a bold and savory combination sauteed in garlic and oil.

As for the pizza- it speaks for itself. But like Liz Balmaseda said in her review, "On its pizza alone, Carmine's could run an extraordinary eatery." Aside from classic pies, the restaurant serves up 12 specialty pies from Shrimp Scampi Pizza with mozzarella and crushed red pepper to Pizza a la Florentina with spinach and artichokes. Pick your own toppings and create your own pie with options like Italian sausage and green peppers or prosciutto and arugula.

The menu also consists of a number of salad, pasta, and fish dishes and entrees like Veal Francese and Chicken Parmigiana. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, Carmine's makes a special Roast Prime Rib and on Wednesdays, you can enjoy half off all wines at the bar from 3-10 p.m.

The eatery is open every day from 11 a.m.- 11 p.m. You don't need reservations but it's a good idea if you go at night. Try Carmine's for yourself and see why patrons love it.
