Atom Bank has struck a deal that will see Assetz Capital become an introducer of commercial mortgage loan applications to the app-based lender.

The move gives the bank further exposure to the commercial property markets that the small business finance firm specialises in.

Assetz Capital has completed £1.7bn of property-secured business loans since it was founded in 2013.

Atom Bank has generated over £1bn in commercial mortgage quotes since returning to this market in April.

Earlier this month, the bank launched broker-instructed valuations that allows intermediaries to instruct property valuations at any stage up until an agreement in principle is issued, even before submitting a lending application to Atom.

The business says the move will halve the underwriting times it takes to complete these mortgages by two weeks.

Atom Bank head of intermediary distribution David Castling says: “A partnership with a specialist originator such as Assetz complements our existing broker network and provides us with access to new professional and direct markets for commercial mortgages.”

Assetz Capital managing director Andrew Charnley adds: “This strategic partnership with Atom will help Assetz to extend our reach in the owner-occupied and professional property investor commercial mortgage market space nationwide.”
