Together has promoted Chris Adams to the role of Chief Financial Officer, joining the specialist lenders board of directors with immediate effect.
Adams’ remit and responsibilities widen from his former role of group finance director which he assumed in 2021.
Initially joining Together as head of financial reporting in 2017, Adams’ seven-year career with the company has seen him promoted through the ranks to group financial controller ahead of becoming director of the division.
Prior to Together, he held positions at the Co-op Bank and Deloitte where he qualified as a chartered accountant and gained experience in financial services audit, M&A and securitisations in both the UK and Australia.
Commenting on the promotion Adams said: “Together has a special culture that provides opportunities to both customers and colleagues to realise their ambitions. I am really excited to be taking on this new role at Together and look forward to contributing to the next stage of the group’s growth journey.”
Adams’ promotion follows the recent appointment of Richard Rowntree as CEO who will join the business in early 2025.
Industry veteran Rowntree joins Together from Paragon Bank, where he worked for almost five years, leaving as managing director of the mortgages division.
His appointment followed the surprise resignation announcement in February that chief executive designate Gerald Grimes would step down in the spring “to pursue personal ambitions”.
