Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) has announced Dina Matta as a new non-executive director.

Matta has 25 years of experience in senior management roles with a focus on technological innovation.

She most recently worked in group transformation at ING and was group transformation director at BT for five years. Matta is also the chair and founder of technology firm FatFractal.

She joins the society’s board at the same time non-executive director Gordan Ireland retires from the board.

YBS chairman John Heaps says: “I’m delighted to welcome [Dina] Matta to the board. Her extensive experience in change and transformation space, which is a key focus for the society over the next few years, as well as her senior leadership skills, make [Dina] Matta a valuable addition.

“I’d like to extend my most sincere thanks to [Gordon] Ireland, who has provided valuable counsel throughout his six years on the board and has served the audit and risk committees with considerable distinction. I wish him well for the future.”

Matta adds: “I’m pleased to be joining YBS at such an exciting and pivotal time in their transformation journey. I’m very much looking forward to working with the board, the senior leadership team and colleagues as the digital and change programmes progress.”
