Legal & General Retail has hired Vikki Jefferies as its market development director.

The business says Jefferies will lead the growth of its “presence and influence in the intermediated market, working closely with partners, distributors, and advisers to deliver innovative and customer-centric solutions across the business”.

It adds that she will focus on proposition developments including the high value, business protection, and core distribution propositions.

Jefferies reports to Legal & General Retail managing director, distribution, Ali Crossley.

She joins from LSL Financial Services, where she was a member of the executive team and was responsible for the Primis network as well as relationship management across mortgage, protection, and general insurance product lines. She had worked at LSL for over six years.

Jefferies has over 25 years of industry experience, having previously worked at Endsleigh Insurance in various roles across sales management, business development and product design.

Her appointment at Legal & General Retail follows the retirement announcement of the head of intermediary development Jeff Woods.

Crossley says: “Vikki’s appointment in this newly created role comes at a busy and exciting time for the business, and I’m looking forward to the innovative strategies and leadership she will bring to our team.

“She is a highly respected and experienced leader with a deep understanding of the needs and challenges of advisers and customers and, we are confident that her expertise will help us to continue to achieve great success.”

Jefferies adds that she is looking forward to “enhancing their [Legal & General Retail’s] strong proposition and also leading a talented and dedicated team of market development managers”.
