Openwork has appointed Richard Houghton (pictured) to work as its new interim chief financial officer, subject to regulatory approval.

Houghton is being tasked with expanding the business.

He brings over 30 years’ experience to his new role, including senior positions at RBS, Aspen Insurance, RSA, the Co-op, and Phoenix Life.

He most recently served as interim Group chief financial officer at Hyperion Insurance Group, where he served from December 2018.

Houghton replaces Kevin Chidwick, who joined Openwork in March 2018.

Openwork chief executive Mark Duckworth says: “[Houghton’s] deep experience and expertise will be fundamental to our long-term success as we look to build on the continuing strong growth across our markets.”

Houghton adds: “Openwork is a very exciting business with a clear and sustainable growth strategy, and I look forward to working with the team to support its ongoing expansion and development.”
