Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB) has appointed Dan Fyffe as lending director within its development finance team, where he will support brokers and SME developers across the South.

Reporting to Rob Syrett, head of originations, development finance, Fyffe brings more than 20 years of banking experience to the role, including 17 years specialising in property and development finance.

He joins HTB from Mizrahi Tefahot Bank, where he was a relationship manager responsible for managing a portfolio of property clients alongside originating and structuring new lending opportunities.

Prior to this, Fyffe spent nine years at Shawbrook Bank, progressing from assistant relationship manager to relationship director within its development finance team.

He initially joined to help establish the development finance function and went on to source, structure and complete transactions ranging from £1m to £35m.

Commenting on his appointment, Fyffe said: “What attracted me to HTB was that it is an established bank but still has a practical and flexible approach to development finance.”

He added: “I’ve worked in this market for a long time and conditions never stand still. What matters is listening to brokers and developers, understanding what they are trying to achieve and applying commercial judgement to find a sensible way forward. That approach really resonated with me.”

Earlier this week Hampshire Trust Bank promoted Athens Piponides to lending manager within its development finance team.
