Residents of South Florida are thrilled we have managed to flatten the coronavirus curve and that things are beginning to return to normal. The gyms are now open in many places as well as gyms and most of the restaurants and retail stores. Still, municipalities are asking residents to be responsible by continuing to maintain proper social distancing as well as follow other specific guidelines.

Here is what you need to know if your local beach recently opened.

Boca Raton

Pedestrians will have access to city beaches from sunrise to sunset during the reopening phase, however, all City of Boca Raton beach parks including parking, facilities, restrooms, playgrounds, and picnic pavilions will remain closed until further notice.

Delray Beach

Municipal Beach and Atlantic Dunes Park will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. Lifeguards will be monitoring the beach. Surfing, sunbathing, volleyball, group fitness, organized activities, congregating, chairs, tents, cabana rentals are all prohibited.

Town of Palm Beach

The Town of Palm Beach had previously announced its guarded public beaches would not reopen until May 26. Curfew hours will continue from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. until June 9. which may be further extended at that time, town officials say. When the beaches do reopen, it will be for active uses only.

Lake Worth Beach

People must keep groups to 10 people or less, stay six feet apart, swim near guarded areas, use showers one person at a time, practice good hygiene and handwashing, and wear a face mask where possible.

Riviera Beach

All beachgoers are ordered to adhere to the guidance and direction provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In tandem, the city encourages all individuals to assist in “policing” the beaches, including practicing social distancing, avoiding gatherings of over 10 people, and wearing facemasks or coverings when applicable.

Jupiter

Residents will notice signage along the Jupiter beachfront alerting them to guidelines and rules for visiting the beach. Groups and gatherings may only have a maximum of 10 people. Beachgoers must maintain social distancing and keep six feet between parties. Law enforcement and public safety will be on patrol to ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
