It was just a little over a month ago when Dustin Johnson failed to break 80 in his two rounds at the Memorial before heading home. The following week he traveled to Minnesota for the 3M Open where he opened with a 78 and promptly withdrew. It seemed like DJ was playing his worst golf during at the worst time with a major and the playoffs on the horizon.

What a difference just a few weeks can make.

After a runner-up finish at the PGA Championship, Johnson arrived at The Northern Trust in Boston, the first event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs and proceeded to lap the field. Not only did he shoot a Friday 60 that easily could have been a 55, he won the event at a nearly historical 30-under par. As if all of that wasn't enough, the win moved Dustin back into the top spot in the Official World Golf Ranking.

It would appear that Johnson is now peaking at the right time. This past week kicked off a stretch where Dustin will play 4 out of the next 5 weeks including the final two playoff events this week and next week and culminating with the rescheduled U.S. Open September 17-20.
