Former Federal Housing Commissioner Brian Montgomery is joining VA lender Newday USA as vice chairman of its advisory board.

Montgomery also served in the Executive Office of the President under Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush. During the younger Bush's presidency, he was a deputy assistant to the president from 2001 until 2005.
Newday specializes in working with military families. According to January statistics from the Department of Veterans Affairs, it ranked 16th during the months, with $188 million of loans, 642 units, guaranteed.
The program's No. 1 lender during the month, United Wholesale Mortgage, did 7.284 units with a total loan guarantee amount of $3.17 billion.
After leaving government service, Montgomery
