Mortgage Advice Bureau has added new zero-deposit lender Gable Mortgages to its panel.

Gable offers two zero-deposit mortgages at 100% loan-to-value, including one for new-build properties through Own New and one for existing homes.

Both are five-year fixed products aimed at borrowers who can afford mortgage repayments but do not have a traditional deposit.

The lender says the products may suit first-time buyers, renters, home movers and borrowers with limited equity.

They are also available to employed and self-employed applicants, including key workers.

Mortgage Advice Bureau new build and affordable housing partnerships manager Felicity Barnett says: “Deposit is consistently the biggest barrier we see for people trying to buy a new home, whether that is a first-time buyer who has spent years renting, or a next-time buyer whose equity doesn’t stretch as far as it used to.

“We’re seeing an increasing number of advisers working closely with developers to structure deals around affordability rather than deposit size, and that is exactly the space Gable is built for.”

Gable Mortgages mortgage operations director Lisa Crane adds: “This launch reflects our shared commitment to helping more first-time buyers onto the property ladder, while giving MAB brokers a valuable new solution for clients who can afford the monthly mortgage repayments but may not have a substantial deposit.”
