Ocean Safety Awareness Classes are scheduled upon request by the City of Delray Beach. Classes are at your location, or the Ocean Rescue Headquarters located at Anchor Park, 340 South Ocean Boulevard, Delray Beach. The class covers ocean safety information about rip currents, man-o-war jellyfish, lightning, severe weather, marine life, and other beach-related topics.

Swimming safely at the beach is imperative. Learn how to reduce the risks so your family can enjoy swimming in open water, such as the ocean and large lakes. Keep these tips in mind:

-        Always swim in a lifeguarded area.

-        Never swim alone, regardless of your age or swimming skills.

-        Keep within your fitness and swimming capabilities.

-        Be aware of weather and water conditions and heed warnings.
