Here are a few of our favorite family-friendly activities to do with your kids on a rainy day in the Palm Beaches.

Hoffman’s Chocolates

Nothing can clear up a rainy day like a trip to a chocolate factory. Hoffman’s Chocolates has been in The Palm Beaches for decades, delivering tasty confections to generations. You can get a guided window tour of the various goodies being prepared, watch a video presentation about chocolate history and get some free chocolate samples. You can even get hands-on by taking a chocolatier class, where you make your own beautiful chocolate crafts!

Lion Country Safari

No need to get wet when you visit Lion Country Safari. This drive-through park has more than a thousand animals, many becoming even more active when it rains. You’ll see large herds of animals from six continents roaming free while you look on from your car. Plan on seeing lions, giraffes, zebra, rhinos and chimpanzees, as well as hundreds of other species from around the world. Once the rain lets up, there are rides like a carousel, mini-train and flying elephants, close-up animal displays, a petting zoo, and VIP encounters such as painting by a giraffe and meeting a rhino in this award-winning park.

Boca Children’s Museum

One of the area’s first museums dedicated to kids, the Boca Children’s Museum is dedicated to broadening children’s awareness of the world around them. Exhibits include Charlie’s Storytelling Tent, a child-sized grocery store, and the “Wanna Be Center”, where kids get to dress up like community helpers like firefighters, police and bankers.
